America was built on the promise that if you work hard, follow the rules, and respect your neighbors, you’ll be able to build a career and raise a family. The federal minimum wage has not changed in the past 10 years. It should be raised today, and must include automatic cost of living increases to keep pace with inflation.
Family should come first. We need a national family leave plan so that our nation’s hardest-working citizens don’t have to choose between making ends meet and taking care of their loved ones when they’re most needed.
Every family should have access to affordable, high-quality child care. Worrying about a child should not hold anyone back from working.
