Women across the country – and across the globe – face a number of challenges on a daily basis. Our number one priority is making sure women’s voices are heard loud and clear.
It is critically important that women have full reproductive rights, including access to birth control and abortion. The abortion bans sweeping the country at the state and federal level must be stopped and we must fight any judicial nominees who can’t be trusted to support safe and legal abortion as a basic right.
We need to hold rapists and abusers accountable and create a responsible culture where women don’t have to live in fear for their lives.
#MeToo is only the beginning. We need systemic change that stamps out rape culture in every facet of American life – from the workplace, to education, to the family and social settings.
We need to change the laws surrounding child marriages – no child should be forced into marriage, and in 48 states, we need to change laws allowing minors to marry.
Sex trafficking needs to end – an estimated 40.3 million people are victims of human trafficking – an overwhelming majority of whom are women and girls.
