Our democracy only works when everyone has an equal voice, but our electoral system and political institutions are currently designed to limit influence from everyday voters and concentrate access for well funded special interests. We need to make it easier for ALL Americans, including people of color, the elderly, students, and people with disabilities, to vote. This is America: choosing between easy voting and secure voting is a false choice.
Voters should select politicians, not the other way around. Gerrymandering has distorted our politics long enough, and made it far to easy for our elected leaders to divide us instead of bringing us together.
It’s time to get Big Money out of politics, overturn Citizens United, and reform our campaign finance system so that our elections can be about the issues that matter most, not who raised the most money.
Why should votes in Wisconsin count six times more than votes in California? How is it fair that two of the last three presidents were elected with less than half of the popular vote? The Electoral College is undemocratic and needs to be abolished.
At this point it isn’t a conspiracy theory, it’s a fact. Foreign nations have hacked our voter rolls and our voting machines are next. We need to overhaul our entire election infrastructure to make sure we’re using the only voting system that is 100% safe, paper ballots.
